The number of jobseekers continues to decline, following the setting of stricter criteria for unemployment insurance, and the rising number of unemployed who have despaired of finding a job, and no longer register with the government Employment Service, due to a lack of suitable employment.

Employment Service figures show that the number of jobseekers reached 184,526 in November, down 1% from the preceding month, amounting to a 1.1% decrease.

The number of jobseekers has fallen by 21,399 since February, amounting to a 10.4% decrease. This follows a 27% surge in January 2000-February 2002, …
