The past few months have witnessed so many discussions about gender violence but seldom on the practical ways of helping the victimised woman to recover.

Debate after debate, our communities, churches and almost every institution housing women have been reached with the "gospel" of regarding women as equal partners in development.

The campaigns which unanimously condemn wife battering, sexual abuse and rape reached their climax during the just-ended '16 days of activism against gender violence' - from November 25 to December 10.

During the period, various humanitarian agencies offset their agenda on how best they intended to deal with the issue but the question still remains:
