It's time to stop viewing the Expos as a sad-sack operation destined to be abolished at the end of the season. Not even Major League Baseball will be stupid enough to eliminate a franchise it could sell to the highest bidder.

The Expos' trade for Indians ace Bartolo Colon didn't just improve the team's ability to contend. It also enhanced the value of the franchise, which is coveted by three different ownership groups representing Washington D.C./northern Virginia.
