Aiming high
I was surprised to see that Curt Schilling "has a real chance to end the season with 30 wins" (TSN, June 24). Even with three rounds of postseason stats added in, Schilling will not reach 30 victories.
In this age it is next to impossible for a pitcher to win 30 games. With a maximum of 35 starts in a season, a pitcher has a razor-thin margin for error. It's been more than a decade since anyone even has won 25, let alone sniffed 30.

Who pays the bills?
Your June 24 issue has an interesting interview with comissioner Bud Selig, but you forgot one very important thing: the fans. How will they react to another work stoppage?
