MTD's ad showcase contest results

The ninth annual Independent Tire Dealers Newspaper Advertising Showcase Contest drew a record number of entries from such far reaching-locations as Hawaii and Alaska as well as Australia and Canada.

In fact, two of our winning entries traveled a good distance to our Akron office -- one from our 50th state and one from north of the border.

It is interesting to note, too, that this is the second year in a row that U.S. dealers on the West Coast took top honors in this contest that judged ads based on originality, appearance and impact.

The Grand Prize-winning ad, judged best overall by our panel of judges, was from Mobat Tire in Fairbanks, Alaska. Jenny Wertz, manager, receives $1,000 for her efforts.

The winning ad in Category A, for those dealers with sales volumes of less than $1 million annually, went to Kimball's Tire Shop in Guelph, …
