A lot of players in Chiefs RB Priest Holmes' situation would be upset about losing playing time and touches to a young player such as Larry Johnson. But even privately, Holmes has been a good soldier about having to split his responsibilities with Johnson. Part of the reason, according to those who know Holmes well, is the impression former RB Earnest Byner left when Holmes was a young player with the Ravens. Byner tried to help Holmes and do what was best for the team. Holmes, subsequently, has tried to get Johnson to be more patient on screen passes and perimeter runs. That advice has shown up in the way Johnson has improved at setting up blockers and reading linebackers. * Jimmy Johnson wasn't much of a survivor by elite NFL coaching standards, lasting only nine years as coach of the Cowboys and Dolphins. But he would make a heck of a "Survivor"--a contestant in the popular CBS reality series. Johnson is a big fan of the show and even attended one of the season finales. Johnson wanted to be a contestant, and he prepared and submitted an audition tape. CBS rejected Johnson because the show is taped in the summer and aired in the fall, when Johnson is on the air as an analyst on FOX NFL Sunday. Had Johnson worked for CBS, it might have been a different story.
