TSN: Who are your top three all-time Astros?
LOVETT: Nolan Ryan (right) is No. 1, for sure. I used to love to go to batting practice early and watch Rusty Staub hit them out of the park. And I think Larry Dierker, not only as a pitcher but then as a manager, did an awful lot for the team.
TSN: It sure took them a long time to get to the World Series.
LOVETT: Yeah, and it is amazing because they have had some great teams over the years. They could have (made it) so many times.
TSN: What kind of player was the young Lyle Lovett?
LOVETT: I played all through Little League. I played shortstop, and I pitched and played some first base. But I didn't quite make it to the big leagues.
