[1] HOW TO PARTY LIKE A CHAMPION
Dress down--and don't you dare forget the stogies
Jerry Reinsdorf knows a few things about celebrating a big-time sports championship, having won six NBA rings as an owner when Michael Jordan played for the Bulls. Before he notched his seventh ring--as chairman of the White Sox--Reinsdorf offered a few tips for revelry in a championship locker room. You know, just in case you win a world title sometime in the near future.
Wear something cheap. "You have to put on a shirt and pants that you don't really care about because that will be the last time you wear it. Once your clothes are doused with champagne and you leave them like that for a few hours, that's it--they're not coming back."
Keep a towel handy. "Champagne is going to get into your eyes, and once it does, it stings. It is really, really painful, and it is hard to get out. You have to have something dry on hand to wipe your eyes out."
Bring plenty of cigars. "Everyone wants a cigar after you win. Harold Baines never smokes--never--but we had a deal that if we win a World Series, he would smoke one. I am going to cut it and light it for him. That is how it is. All the sudden, everyone wants to smoke one."
