HYDERABAD: Muslim students admitted into engineering, medical and other professional courses in colleges and universities across the state under the new quota rules are unlikely to get affected by the High Court order.
A total of 1408 Muslim students joined engineering colleges under the newly created BC-E category. About 180 MBBS seats, 100 dental, 150 pharmacy, 494 MCA and 356 MBA seats were filled by Muslims.
NTR Health University registrar Dr P Jayakar Babu said efforts would be made to ensure that the academic year of Muslim students admitted under BC-E category in medical and dental courses would not go waste.
Director of technical education G Ananta Ramu said about 3,500 seats were reserved for Muslims in 261 engineering colleges.
