SANTA CRUZ, Calif. -- What's in a name? For Doran Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired it means a vibrant new identity that reinforces the agency's mission and vision. Effective Sept. 20, 2005, Doran Center changed its name to Vista Center, Santa Cruz.

The name change better reflects the Center's expanded reach from the parent agency's home base in Palo Alto into San Mateo, Santa Clara, San Benito and Santa Cruz Counties. It is one part of a new brand identity and logo for the organization. The new logo, nicknamed the "Soaring V," captures the Center's focus as a source of hope and inspiration for the many clients served by the agency over its 20-year history.
