With a week remaining in the regular season, the coaches had the opportunity to select their unsung hero.

Charlotte's Binky Waldrop went with center Osco Simpson.

"Offensive linemen don't get much credit for what they do," Waldrop said.

Last year as a junior, the 5-foot-10, 202-pound Simpson was a reserve lineman.

"He really improved dramatically," Waldrop said. "He didn't play much last year, but he's really done a nice job this year."

According to offensive line coach Jim Wiseman, Simpson has graded out among the best each game this season.
