Taylor Spink, the crusty publisher of THE SPORTING NEWS for nearly five decades, apparently didn't think highly of a newfangled form of communication called radio. "Mr. Radio is going to butt into the business of telling the world all about the ball game," TSN reported in 1922.

Suffice it to say, times change. As of last week, THE SPORTING NEWS Radio Network was on the air, converted from what had been the popular and successful One-on-One Sports Network It is the next step in turning what had been just a magazine company into a fully integrated media company. How does that affect you? Well, if you had listened to a TSN Radio Network affiliate during the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament, you could have heard commentary from senior writer Mike DeCourcy and host Peter Brown as the first two rounds were played.
