Dorothy Moore continues to wait for the Lemon Bay High softball team's bats to heat up again.

In the meantime, the Manta Rays coach will take the solid pitching.

Heather Rose and Kristin Pope combined on a seven-hitter, as Lemon Bay slipped past Port Charlotte, 2-1, Wednesday night in a non-district game in Englewood.

Rose allowed five hits and one run during the first five innings before tiring. One day after pitching a gem against Cardinal Mooney, Pope took over and recorded the final six outs on strikeouts.

"She doesn't have what she did, but she has enough," Moore said of Pope, who has battled injuries the past two …
