Fireballer C.C. Sabathia is the most talked about pitching prospect in baseball this spring. TSN's Jared Hoffman caught up with the Indians lefty.
TSN: What was your favorite team as a kid?
CCS: I grew up in the Bay Area, and I love the Raiders. I think my dad made me into a Raiders fan before I was born. I was disappointed when they lost in the playoffs this season. That hurt.
TSN: Did you play football in high school?
CCS: I played tight end in high school. We had a pretty good team, and my senior year we reached the state semifinals.
TSN: Major League Baseball is ordering the umpires to enforce the high strike. Have you noticed a difference in spring training games?
CCS: I haven't really noticed a difference. The umpires came and talked to the team about the strike zone and told us they were really going to enforce it. I'm just going to continue to keep throwing the way I've been throwing strikes. I think if anyone gets the ball up, major league hitters, they're going to hurt you. If you leave a pitch up. the hitters are going to have a better chance of hitting a home run than you're going to have of striking them out.
