`Outside, the cold, hard white of a Northern New York winter covers the ground, a dormancy of the heart. Inside, my spirit comes alive, a spring thaw of childhood memories-a ball tossed on a roof; the smell of leather; the crack of bat on ball. Thank you, Dave Kindred!'

--David Bowen, Brushton, N.Y.

Talking money

Thank you, Gary Sheffield, for your whining and complaining about lack of respect and for only playing up to your potential when it suits you. You and players like you truly make us baseball fans appreciate all the more those players who go full out every day, hurt or not, and never complain.
