Post-Tool changing hands.

If a deal closed yesterday as expected, two Sacramento-area Post-Tool stores and five in the Bay Area have new owners.

The new owner is Western Supply Corp., a 20-year-old Salem, Ore., operator of 24 Western Tool Supply stores and one Abbey Tool site. Most of the stores are in Oregon and Washington, but the company has one in Idaho and three in California. The company has 110 employees and expects 2001 sales of $30 million.

It is acquiring the seven Post-Tool stores from Trend-Lines Inc., a Massachusetts-based retailer that is divesting its Post-Tool and Golf Day divisions after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization last August. Before the sale, …
