POLITICAL COMPROMISE BETWEEN WAHID, HOUSE STILL POSSIBLE: SPEAKER.
JAKARTA, May 1 Asia Pulse - General chairman of Golkar Party Akbar Tandjung said political compromise between President Abdurrahman Wahid and the House of Representatives (DPR) is still possible despite the issuance of the latter's second memorandum.
Akbar Tandjung said on Monday that political compromise is still made possible as the second memorandum was issued not to topple but warn the president to improve his performance.
"With the issuance of the second memorandum, we hope Gus Dur (Wahid's popular name) would improve the situation within one month," he said.
