JAKARTA, May 1 Asia Pulse - The Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency (IBRA) will soon announce arrangements for bank mergers it is considering as part of its efforts to empower the country's ailing banking sector.
"The bank-merger scenarios will be announced in the near future," IBRA deputy chief Felia Salim told newsmen here Monday.
Meanwhile, director general of financial institutions at the Finance Ministry Darmin Nasution said the government would never adopt the results of a bank mapping effort made by IBRA's hired consultant completely.
