SUGAR PRICE FALLS IN PAKISTAN.
KARACHI, May 1 Asia Pulse - A slump in the domestic market has pushed down prices of white refined crystal sugar by Rs4,000 (US$65.57) per tonne during the week.
The main factors behind the current declining trend in the market were the lack of demand and oversupply, sugar dealers said.
All the sugar mills have finished crushing while the importers are still unloading their consignments at the Karachi port.
Sugar producers are trying to clear their stocks as soon as possible to pay off debts.
