TAIPEI, May 1 Asia Pulse - Taiwan's automobile manufacturers asked the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) Monday to provide effective assistance for them to tide over the pressing difficulties their industry is now facing.
They presented their request while meeting with Economics Minister Lin Hsin-yi and other MOEA officials at a symposium.
Participants noted that sales of automobiles on the Taiwan market have sharply declined over the past few years, down from 570,000 vehicles in 1994 to 420,000 vehicles last year.
