SYDNEY, May 1 Asia Pulse - The Australian stock market opened virtually steady today as investors ignored a fall on Wall Street overnight, looking instead to today's Reserve Bank of Australia board meeting.
Stocks opened marginally higher but had turned lower by 1021 AEST, with the benchmark S&P/ASX index down 4.5 points to 3324.9 by that time.
The all ordinaries index was 4.2 points softer at 3266.1.
The all industrials index had moved 10.6 points lower to 5578.0 but the all resources index was up 3.3 points to 1532.1.
The June share price index contract on the Sydney Futures Exchange was steady at 3340.0 - a 12.7 point premium to the underlying index - on volume of 2149 contracts at 1024 AEST.
