MANILA, May 1 Asia Pulse - Dominant Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) said Monday it will be making substantial reductions to its national long distance direct dial (NDD) rates dropping them to just P3.00 per minute starting May 1, 2001.
This single, flat, VAT-inclusive rate will apply to NDD class between any two PLDT phones, anywhere in the country.
For instance, a call from Manila to Cebu that used to be charged at P6.05 per minute will cost P3.00 now. A call from Davao to Manila, that used to be charged at P6.60 per minute will also cost just P3.00 a minute now.
PLDT NDD calls made to other landlines with also benefit from a reduced rate. These calls will be charged from P3.50 to P5.00 per minute, VAT included. Previously, these calls were charged at rates ranging from P4.40 to P6.60 Vat included.
Calls from a PLDT phone in Manila to a non-PLDT phone in Cebu, which used to cost P6.05 per minute, (VAT included) will now be charged P4.00 per minute (VAT included) while calls from a PLDT phone in Davao to a non-PLDT ...
