Capital cities provide bright spots for states

Economic conditions are great in the capital cities of Indiana and Ohio, but they're not as great in the rest of the two states.

Indianapolis earned five stars, the highest possible score, in Demographics Daily's economic ratings for April. That means its business climate is among America's healthiest. Columbus was just a step behind with an above-average rating of four stars. Meanwhile, Cincinnati tied with Cleveland with three stars; Dayton earned two stars.

But Indiana-and Ohio, on the whole, didn't fare as well in April's ratings. Indiana received just two stars, and Ohio got only one. (The third …
