New Surface Suite from ICEM.(Product Announcement)
ICEM Technologies, a subsidiary of solid and surface modeler maker PTC, has released ICEM 2001, the latest version of its suite of styling and surfacing tools that integrates with the company's Pro/Engineer software. ICEM 2001 includes updates of its surface modeler ICEM Surf, the CDRS industrial design tool, and 3DPaint, a paint and sketch tool.
The most significant upgrades involve the new ICEM Surf tool, which features real-time rendering, with which designers can view and manipulate model geometry in a photorealistic environment. The 3D renderings incorporate modeling and visualization tasks in real time, and produce accurately calculated reflections and shadows.
