Crime Stats: Better But Not Good.(Polling Data)(Statistical Data Included)

Polls support the idea that the nation is making progress on crime. Today, 46 percent say there is less crime in their area than a year ago. Only 10 percent felt that way in 1972. Far more feel that we are losing ground on the drug problem (54 percent) than feel that way about the problem of crime (38 percent). Seventy percent of Americans still say the criminal justice system is not tough enough.
