Austin, San Antonio team up to play on each other's strengths in biotechnology industry
Efforts are under way to create a "biotech corridor" between Austin and San Antonio.
The San Antonio/Austin Life Science Association recently was launched. In the next several weeks, the two cities will exchange official delegations to study biotech resources in each community.
"What we're trying to do is see if we should market ourselves together," says Susan Davenport, economic development director for the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce. "Both communities have a lot of good resources, so together we'll be stronger."
