INDONESIA TAKES PART IN ASEAN YOUTH JAMBOREE IN MALAYSIA.
JAKARTA, June 1 Asia Pulse - Indonesia will send a cultural mission to the 3rd ASEAN Youth Jamboree in Malaysia's Kuala Kuantan on June 10 to 24, said Sri Hasnanto, director general of Culture, Art and Film Affairs at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
"Our participation in the event is a form of brotherhood between us and the nations of the same racial stock in Southeast Asia. Culture is now occupaying an inadequate place in the life of the nation and we wish to prove that culture, besides science and technology, is also important," he said at his office here Thursday.
The Asean Youth Jamboree was already held in the Philippines in 999, in Thailand in 2000 and this time in Malaysia as host of 10 Asean member countries, under the theme "Trail of Unity".
