SEOUL, June 1 Asia Pulse - Air quality in South Korean was significantly worse in April compared to the same month last year, with the level of pollutants pushed up by a nationwide drought in combination with the yearly infux of "yellow dust" from China's Gobi desert and the increased use of diesel-powered vehicles.
The Ministry of Environment reported today that the density of sulfurous acid gas and carbon monoxide in April was almost the same as that recorded last year, but emissions of nitrogen dioxide in April increased from 0.024 to 0.029 parts per million (ppm) from a year ago.
