ISLAMABAD, June 1 Asia Pulse - Arrangements were underway for the export of 100,000 tonnes of rice from Pakistan to Kenya following the reduction of import duty, said Pakistani High Commissioner in Kenya Hamid Kidwai.
He made the announcement during a visit to the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry as part of a discussion of way to promote Pakistani exports to African countries.
He also stated that the trend of decline of Pakistan's exports to Kenya over the last three years would soon be reversed following the decision of the Government of Kenya to rationalise and reduce the import tariff. He said that Kenya has now removed the ban on the import of fruits and vegetables form Pakistan.
