PAKISTAN GOVT AIMS TO EARN US$800 MLN FROM TOURISM BY 2005.
ISLAMABAD, June 1 Asia Pulse - A new tourism policy, presented to Chief Executive General Pervez Musharraf for final approval, has the lofty targets of increase in the number of arriving tourists by 6.5 per cent annually and the foreign exchange earnings up to US$800 million by 2005.
The minister said that a special committee of officials was reviewing the current 34 taxes that covered the hospitality sector and there was a need to reduce their number to six or seven taxes at the federal as well as the provincial levels.
