SEOUL, June 1 Asia Pulse - South Korea's Ministry of Finance and Economy said it had no intention of limiting cigarette price increases to within consumer price hike rates, and that tobacco manufacturers would be allowed to set their own prices from July 1 when a new law takes effect to end the monopoly in the sector.

The law allows tobacco producers to set prices under market principles unlike in the past when they had to get permission from the government for tobacco price increases.
