NEW DELHI, June 1 Asia Pulse - The International Sugar Organisation (ISO), which held its three-day council meeting here, has agreed to extend its agreement beyond 2001 and was optimistic of overcoming financial difficulties due to untimely payments by members and locational problems.

"International Sugar Agreement has been unanimously extended beyond December 31, 2001, and the member countries have been asked to make annual payments on time to ensure that benefits of the ISO membership carry on unhindered," ISO's executive director Peter Baron told PTI.

He said due to different annual budget schedules of the member countries, payments have been delayed but this was not ...
