For the first time in its history, After Effects, the popular motion graphics and desktop compositing program for film, video, multimedia, and the Web, will offer a 3D compositing environment. Version 5.0 of Adobe Systems' After Effects will allow users to mix 2D and 3D layers in a single composition, create and animate lights, cameras, and other properties, and view 3D compositions from up to six different vantage points.
One of the most important additional new features, which comes with the more expensive Production Bundle only, is support for full 16-bit images (making After Effects a more likely tool for feature film production).
