The novelty of President George W. Bush addressing members of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce on his tax cut last Monday (April 16) was that the speech was fed by satellite to sites around the country, including the conference center at the Holiday Inn Express in Woonsocket.
The Rhode Island site -- represented by the Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce -- was to be one of six centers where a person could directly ask President Bush a question about the tax cut plan. However, a technical problem thwarted the interactive portion of the program.
