Ah, spring. It's a time to celebrate a new beginning. The tomorrows on the calendar seem filled with endless potential. That's especially true for the guys on TSN's all-spring team.
Let's begin with the offense:
QB Kurt Kittner, Illinois. He hit 62 percent of his passes during spring scrimmages against a new defensive scheme that coach Ron Turner says gave Kittner more looks than he had seen in the past
RB Cedric Cobbs, Arkansas. After a spectacular freshman season in 1999, Cobbs' sophomore year ended with a shoulder separation that required surgery. This spring, Cobbs flashed the speed and elusiveness he possessed before the surgery.
RB Willis McGahee, Miami. McGahee eclipsed 100 yards rushing in two of three scrimmages.
OL Kyle Benn, Washington. Benn, the only returning starter on the line, did a great job of working with younger players to form what could be a solid group.
OL Austin King, Northwestern. He was a vocal leader and continued to improve on a line that welcomes back every starter from 2000.
