CANBERRA, July 2 Asia Pulse - Prime Minister John Howard confirmed today that the Australian government was set to spend another $A50 million ($US25.58 million) to extend the CDMA mobile phone network.
Mr Howard said details of the plan would be outlined by Communications Minister Richard Alston.
"This would not have been possible if we had listened to Labor," he told the Nine Network.
"This money is coming out of Networking the Nation, the program that was financed out of the partial sale of Telstra."
