TOKYO, July 2 Asia Pulse - Hitachi Ltd. (TSE:6501) announced that it will stop production of TVs and vacuum cleaners in Singapore by the end of September and transfer output to China, Thailand and Indonesia.
The decision means the layoff of about 530 employees. Hitachi Consumer Products Pte. Ltd. currently manufactures about 57,000 TVs and 33,900 vacuum cleaners a month, mainly for sale in Southeast Asia.
