TAIWAN PC MAKER MITAC INTERNATIONAL LAYS OFF 150 EMPLOYEES.
HSINCHU, July 2 Asia Pulse - Affected by market stagnation, Mitac International Corp., one of Taiwan's largest PC makers, laid off 150 employees without warning Friday.
A Mitac official said that the layoff is expected to save the company NT$150 million (US$4.36 million) a year and added that in addition to pay the workers severance payment in accordance with the Labor Standards Law, the company will also offer them Information Technology job training courses or provide information for other job opportunities.
