It's not a CAD package; it's not a CAD viewer; it's not a PDM; and it's not an ERR What Autodesk's Streamline is, is a new data streaming service that will enable small- and mid-size manufacturers to share design data across the so-called extended manufacturing enterprise--sales, purchasing, shop floor, and so forth. Design data can be automatically personalized for specific needs. For example, from a single design data set, a purchasing agent might see only the product's bill of materials, whereas a salesperson sees only product animations and cost information, and a designer sees the complete product data structure.

Streamline will integrate with Autodesk's Inventor, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Mechanical, and Mechanical Desktop. In the future, Autodesk may allow integration of data from ...
