Physics Plug-in for Discreet's 3ds max.(Product Announcement)
Discreet's reactor plug-in (not to be confused with Ascension's ReActor motion-capture system, also described in this month's Spotlight), is designed to enable advanced physics capabilities in Discreet's 3ds max 4 modeling and animation software. With reactor, 3ds max animators can realistically simulate cloth, rope, liquid, and hard and soft bodies that collide, bounce, break, and stretch.
The Rope feature enables quick simulation of any deformable chain, from hair to knotted ropes. Cloth Dynamics allows the creation of cloth objects that physically interact correctly with other types of objects. Rigid Body Dynamics enables simulations for solid objects such as collapsing walls, landslides, and machines, all as affected by gravity, wind, friction, and other force effects; and Soft Body Dynamics allows ...
