In our last installment (April 2001, p. 64), we discussed how to use ActiveX functions to store nongraphic data with AutoCAD objects, then group this data with objects via extended entity data. This month, we look at how to retrieve this information based on the group with which it is associated. You can use the (ssget) filter-list to select specific entities that contain extended entity data. Use the 23 group code with the application name as shown in this example:
