The four-door Ford Explorer, America's most popular sport-utility vehicle (SUV), has been fully redesigned for model year 2002--and not a moment too soon, given the fallout over rollovers associated with the old Explorer and recalled Firestone tires. (The two-door model, the Explorer Sport, still relies on the old design.)
