PORT CHARLOTTE -- Alpha Center, the charter school plagued by financial mismanagement and administrative turnover, was shut down by the Charlotte County School Board on Tuesday.
Despite pleas from parents and students and a new financial plan from an Arizona-based company hoping to rid the school of its $1.3 million debt, the board voted unanimously to revoke its charter with the school.
