Sam's Club to take old HQ space.(Brief Article)

A Sam's Club discount store is coming to South Austin.

Real estate sources say Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has signed a lease to put one of its Sam's Club stores in a building northeast of U.S. Highway 290 and South MoPac Expressway.

Wal-Mart executives in Bentonville, Ark., couldn't be reached for comment.

The new Sam's Club store, at 4952 W. U.S. 290 in the South Town Center shopping complex, was home to an HQ Home Improvement Headquarters that closed two years ago. The 110,530-square-foot building belongs to Kmart Corp., which owned the HQ chain.
