WASHINGTON -- The American Institute of CPAs' two technology-based assurance services -- WebTrust and SysTrust - are each expected to get a jump-start from Microsoft Corp.
Microsoft has given its endorsement to each of those fledgling services, which are designed to be delivered exclusively by CPAs.
WebTrust is service that audits and attests to the soundness of the business and technological practices of business Web sites and their operators, and SysTrust is the audit and attestation of businesses' broader technological systems.
Microsoft, in separate actions that were unveiled at the AICPA's recent Spring Council meeting in Washington:
* Selected SysTrust as one of the standards that must be met by application service providers, who partner with Microsoft's Great Plains group; and,
