CHICAGO -- Ed Nusbaum, the newly appointed chief executive of Grant Thornton is charting a course for the company that will focus on its core services, tax and auditing -- a strategy looked upon favorably by the partners of the firm based here.
Nusbaum, 45, who started with the Grant Thornton in 1978 as an audit staff member in Chicago, hopes to bring some stability to the chief executive post, which has come to resemble a revolving door. Three CEOs exited in the past 10 years -- the last being the March ouster of Domenick Esposito after a dispute with the executive committee over the future direction of GT.
