Are superstitions part of your race-day routine?
Robert Pressley: I don't really have any superstitions, but I always make sure I have a banana sandwich before the race starts. Every week, right after the drivers' meeting, I go to my motorcoach and eat a banana sandwich.
Sterling Marlin: I don't really have anything special that I do before every race, but maybe I should. When I won back-to-back Daytona 500s (1994 and '95), I ate the same thing for breakfast before each of those races. Our motel was near a Krystal restaurant in Daytona, so both years, I stopped by the morning before the race and ate a couple Sun Risers. That's one of their rolls with egg and sausage. I just ate a couple. I really love the Krystal burgers. I usually eat about six of them at a time. I had a friend who ate 24 once. I guess he was really hungry. Anyway, there ain't many Krystals near tracks where we race. Maybe I should have some Sun Risers shipped in and see if it would work every time.
Steve Park: Sometimes fans will give me lucky pennies, and I'll hold onto them, but other than that I just try to go out and do the best that I can.
Andy Houston: I try to stay away from all that stuff because that's one more thing running through your mind. I pretty much go and do my own deal. The only thing that I make sure of on race day is to eat lightly and drink ...
