KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 6 Asia Pulse - Investments in Malaysia's manufacturing sector amounted to RM45.875 billion (US$12.07 billion) in 2000 on 943 applications, up from to 776 in 1999.

International Trade and Industry Minister, Rafidah Aziz said foreign direct investments led by the US, accounted for 64.7 per cent or RM29.663 billion with 77.3 per cent involving projects above RM100 million.

She said the major contributors to the growth in the investments came via 53 big projects received in 2000...
