The helmsley name is gone from the facade of the Helmsley Building at 230 Park Ave.
The gold-leaf letters on the East 46th Street face of the property, which served to memorialize departed real estate legend Harry Helmsley, are missing in action.
The new owner of the 1929-vintage building, Richard Kalikow and Adam Hochfelder's Max Capital Management Corp., removed the letters last year while cleaning the limestone entryway of the 1.1-million-square-foot landmark, but no one noticed because construction scaffolding obscured the blank wall.
