SEOUL, Feb 1 Asia Pulse - Share prices on the Korea Stock Exchange closed lower Thursday despite the U.S. Federal Reserve's action to cut a key interest rate.
The Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) shed 5.61 points, or 0.91 percent, to 612.30.
The benchmark index opened the day on a down note as investors switched to net sellers, showing little response to the Fed's lowering of federal funds target rate by 0.5 percentage point.
Decliners led advancers 510 to 307, with 44 others remaining flat.
